Karachi: Family claims Habiba Pirjan abducted and disappeared again

The family of Habiba Pirjan, a woman from Karachi, has alleged that she was forcibly disappeared during a late-night raid carried out by Pakistani forces in the city’s Baldia Town area. According to their account, the operation took place shortly after midnight on 25 May 2026, and involved personnel from multiple security agencies, including the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Military Intelligence (MI), and police officers.

Relatives reported that a group of individuals, believed to include officers from these agencies, entered their home near Naval Colony in Baldia Town around 12:40 am. They stated that during the raid, property was damaged, and two mobile phones, a wristwatch, and household diaries were confiscated. The family described the operation as aggressive and unannounced, with no prior notice or legal procedure followed.

The missing woman, identified as Habiba Pirjan by her family, was reportedly taken from her residence in Gashin-e-Mazdoor Third Street. Her son, Yasir Baloch, claimed that the officers entered the house without any female officers present and forcibly abducted his mother. He also alleged that he was detained at gunpoint, blindfolded, and transported to an undisclosed location, where he was questioned before being released around 4:30 am near Sher Shah.

Yasir Baloch further stated that since the incident, no information has been provided regarding his mother’s whereabouts. He emphasized that this was not an isolated case, as Habiba Pirjan had previously been subjected to enforced disappearance on 22 May 2022 and was released three days later.

The family has strongly condemned the incident and called for her immediate recovery. They demanded that authorities either produce her before a court of law or release her unconditionally without further delay, asserting their right to know her fate and whereabouts.
