Baloch Liberation Army publishes 2025 annual report, claiming 521 attacks and over 1,060 military deaths
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) released its annual operations report for 2025 on Thursday, highlighting a year of intense activity across Balochistan. The report claims the group carried out 521 attacks, resulting in the deaths of over 1,060 Pakistani military personnel.
Titled Dhak, the report features infographics, photographs, and detailed descriptions of the BLA’s activities, which they state were part of their campaign against what they describe as the “occupying Pakistani army, its collaborators, military installations, and agents.” The group asserts that its fighters “defeated the enemy on many fronts” through “systematic operations” throughout the year. They also reported injuring more than 556 personnel and informants in various attacks.
The BLA further claimed to have killed 75 alleged informants, including individuals they say were arrested during raids and subsequently “sentenced to death” by the “Baloch National Court.”
According to the report, the group conducted 15 special operations in 2025, executed by different squads: four by the Majeed Brigade, six by the Fateh Squad, and five by the Special Tactical Operations Squad (STOS). The BLA emphasized the vital role of its intelligence wing, Zirab (Zypher Research and Analyses Bureau), in identifying targets and planning attacks.
In 2025, the BLA carried out 212 explosions, including 112 IED attacks, and destroyed 215 military vehicles and motorcycles, along with 35 quadcopters and surveillance drones. They also targeted and damaged seven communication and surveillance towers and three railway tracks. The group claimed to have seized 208 weapons from Pakistani forces and their collaborators and took control of 48 locations, including military camps, police, and Levies stations, as well as towns like Zehri, Manguchar, Surab, Mastung, and Panjgur.
Additionally, the BLA established over 42 highway blockades across Balochistan and detained 366 “agents,” including members of Pakistan’s armed forces. The Majeed Brigade reportedly carried out four operations involving ten “fidayeen,” including the hijacking of the Jaffar Express in Bolan during the second phase of Operation Darra-e-Bolan, in which hundreds of military personnel on board were reportedly taken into custody. The brigade also targeted Pakistani convoys in Nushki, Turbat, and Dasht.
The Fateh Squad and STOS conducted 11 additional operations, including taking control of Zehri and Manguchar and attacks in Nushki, Kalat, and Quetta, which the group claims resulted in the deaths of several senior officers.
The report states that 72 BLA fighters were killed in 2025, including 11 members of the Majeed Brigade, whom the group described as having “attained martyrdom.”
Concluding, the BLA vowed to continue its operations with even greater intensity until Pakistani forces are compelled to withdraw entirely from Balochistan. There was no immediate response from Pakistani authorities at the time of publication.
