Commission Orders FIR, Arrests of CTD Personnel in Sudais Langove Case—VBMP
The Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances has ordered the registration of a first information report (FIR) and the arrest of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel over the alleged extrajudicial killing of Muhammad Sudais Langove, according to the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP).
In a statement, the organisation said its chairman, Nasrullah Baloch, appeared before the commission with Sudais’s family. The commission ordered an FIR against a CTD deputy superintendent of police, a station house officer and other personnel, and directed their arrest.
The commission instructed the SHO of Civil Lines Police Station to record statements from Sudais’s family, take legal action against those concerned and submit a report within one week. It also ordered the authorities to exhume Sudais’s remains and hand them over to his family for reburial with dignity.
Sudais’s family said he was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces from Killi Ismail in Quetta on the night of May 19–20, 2026, and was later killed on August 20 in a staged encounter. His father, Muhammad Ashraf, said the CTD claimed Sudais had been killed in an encounter in Aghbarg and that his body was handed to the Edhi Foundation for burial. Ashraf rejected this account, saying his son had been detained in front of family members and killed in custody.
Nasrullah Baloch described the commission’s orders as a “positive development” and said efforts to uphold the rule of law and deliver justice could strengthen public confidence in institutions. He expressed hope that those responsible would be brought to justice and urged the commission to help end enforced disappearances, prevent extrajudicial killings and secure the release of people who remain missing.
The VBMP’s protest camp against enforced disappearances continued outside the Quetta Press Club for the 6,401st consecutive day on Tuesday.
Separately, reports cited three alleged cases of enforced disappearance in Kech and Quetta during September, involving two 14-year-old shepherds and a 17-year-old tailor. Qambar, son of Nizar Muhammad, and Zubair, son of Dad Karim, were reportedly taken from the Azyan area of Tump around noon on September 3, 2026. Both are from Gomazi in Kech district, and their whereabouts remain unknown. Reports accused Frontier Corps personnel of involvement.
The third case concerns Mustafa Baloch, son of Gul Baloch, a 17-year-old tailor from Qadri Chowk on Qambrani Road in Quetta. He was reportedly taken from his home at around 2 a.m. on September 29, 2026. Sources accused Inter-Services Intelligence and CTD personnel of involvement. The families of all three young men say they have received no information about their whereabouts.
