BLF Claims Multi-Location Attacks in Gwadar, Announces ‘Operation Almas’

The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for attacks on Pakistani forces at several locations in Gwadar district, announcing a campaign it calls “Operation Almas” on Thursday.

In a statement to the media, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said the group launched a coordinated attack on the Frontier Works Organisation’s (FWO) main camp at Gwadar Zero Point on 22 October.

He said members of the BLF’s Saddo Operational Battalion (SOB), along with other units, were involved. In a later statement, he claimed fighting was continuing on several fronts.

The spokesperson said a captain from Pakistan’s Military Intelligence and several Special Services Group personnel had been killed. The BLF also claimed its fighters had taken control of the FWO camp and raised the group’s flag there.

The group further claimed it had taken control of Mazani police station and seized government weapons and other equipment. It said a police officer was killed in clashes.

Separately, the BLF claimed responsibility for an attack on a Pakistani military convoy in the Gabd area, saying a vehicle was destroyed and several personnel were killed or injured. It also claimed to have taken control of a police post at Gabd Cross.

The BLF said Operation Almas was continuing at multiple locations and that it would provide further details, including its final assessment of casualties and damage, after the operation ended. Pakistani authorities had not immediately issued an official response.
