The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has reported five new cases of alleged enforced disappearances in Balochistan, involving individuals from various backgrounds, including a young girl, a boy, a healthcare worker, a teacher, and a tailor. These cases highlight the ongoing issue of enforced disappearances that continue to affect many families across the region.

According to statements and posters shared on social media, the BYC identified 16-year-old Rizwana, daughter of Gul Jan, as one of the victims. Rizwana, a first-year student from Killi Teri in Mastung, was reportedly taken into custody on June 28 at around 10 pm from the Samungli Road area of Quetta. Her family and community members remain anxious about her whereabouts, which are still unknown.

The BYC accused personnel from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of being involved in Rizwana’s disappearance. Her case adds to the growing list of enforced disappearances linked to security agencies operating in Balochistan, raising concerns about violations of legal and human rights.

Another case involves 11-year-old Chakar, son of Majeed Murad and a resident of Buleda in Kech district. Chakar was reportedly taken into custody by Frontier Corps (FC) personnel from his native area on July 17 at around 8 pm. Since then, his family has had no information about his location or condition, intensifying fears and demands for his immediate recovery.

The BYC also reported the disappearance of Dilshad Baloch, a 27-year-old son of Nazar Muhammad, who was working as a vaccinator at a Basic Health Unit (BHU). Dilshad, a resident of Kohlu district, was reportedly taken on July 17 at around 1 am from the Baiker area of Dera Bugti by members of a government-backed Aman Force and was later handed over to the CTD. His family remains desperate for information about his fate.

Fazal Baloch, a 30-year-old teacher and son of Dost Muhammad from Awaran, was also reportedly taken into custody by personnel from the FC, CTD, and Military Intelligence on July 17 at around 1 am from Ameerabad in Hub Chowki. His whereabouts continue to be unknown, adding to the list of enforced disappearances in the region.

Another victim, 18-year-old Jahanzaib Baloch, son of Abdul Samad, a tailor from Panjgur, was reportedly taken into custody on July 9 at around 2 pm from the Chitkan area of Panjgur. He was moved to an undisclosed location, with his family and human rights groups demanding his immediate recovery.

Families of the disappeared individuals have strongly called for their prompt recovery, emphasizing that if there are any legal allegations against them, they must be produced before a court in accordance with the law. They reject arbitrary detention and demand transparency and accountability from authorities.

Enforced disappearances remain one of the most contentious human rights issues in Balochistan. Families, human rights organizations, and groups like BYC and the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) have repeatedly accused Pakistani military and intelligence agencies of detaining individuals without due process and withholding information about their whereabouts. Despite these claims, Pakistani authorities deny systematic involvement in enforced disappearances. Nonetheless, domestic and international human rights organizations continue to raise concerns, urging investigations and accountability to address this ongoing crisis.
