Three men allegedly went missing in separate incidents in Quetta and Hub
Three men were reportedly taken into custody and subsequently went missing in separate incidents in Quetta and Hub on May 2, according to local sources and family members.
In Hub, a 27-year-old man named Iltaf Hussain Baloch, son of Elahi Bakhsh, was reportedly detained around 2:00 am from the Hub Chowki area. Sources allege that personnel linked to Pakistani security and intelligence agencies were involved in his arrest. Iltaf Hussain is originally from the Geshkor area of Awaran district but had been living in Hub at the time of his detention.
In a different incident in Quetta, two men, aged 40 and 20, were reportedly taken from their home in the Marri Camp area of Hazarganji around 4:00 pm on the same day. Family members identified the men as Jan Khan, son of Sher Khan, and Abdul Sattar, son of Jan Khan. They alleged that personnel associated with the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) were responsible for their detention.
Relatives of the two men claimed that both were taken at the same time, and since then, no information has been provided regarding their whereabouts or condition. The families expressed deep concern over their missing loved ones and called for their immediate recovery.
There has been no official confirmation from authorities regarding the detentions or the current status of any of the individuals. Pakistani officials have not released any statements or information to clarify the situation or confirm the reports.
Human rights organizations have repeatedly raised concerns about enforced disappearances in Balochistan, highlighting a pattern of such incidents in the region. Pakistani authorities have consistently denied any policy of unlawful detention, asserting that all operations are conducted legally and within the framework of the law.
The recent reports add to ongoing apprehensions about transparency and accountability in Balochistan. The lack of official responses and the continued disappearances have heightened fears about human rights violations and the need for greater oversight in the region.
