BRG takes responsibility for attacks in Sibi and Sohbatpur

The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) on Thursday claimed responsibility for two separate attacks in Balochistan’s Sibi and Sohbatpur districts. The group said the operations targeted electricity infrastructure and a Pakistani Rangers checkpoint.

According to a statement issued to the media by BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch, fighters planted explosives in the Lemji area of Sibi on Wednesday night. The group claimed that the explosion completely destroyed two electricity towers and severely damaged two others.

The BRG also said it carried out an armed attack on a Pakistani Rangers checkpoint in the Buskat area of Sohbatpur. The statement alleged that both small and heavy weapons were used during the assault.

The group claimed that the attack on the checkpoint resulted in casualties and material losses for the Rangers. However, no official details were provided regarding the extent of the reported damage or casualties.

Dostain Baloch stated that the BRG accepted responsibility for both incidents and said such operations would continue until what the group described as the “independence of Balochistan.” Pakistani authorities had not immediately commented on the claims at the time of reporting.
