Taftan: Baloch Armed Group Claims Increased Pressure on Pakistani Forces
A statement attributed to pro-independence Baloch groups has claimed that Pakistani security forces are facing increasing operational challenges in parts of Balochistan due to ongoing attacks and resistance activities.
According to the statement, security personnel have restricted their movements in certain areas and are relying heavily on military installations and fortified positions. The group alleges that security forces have become increasingly cautious when operating outside cantonments and military camps because of the risk of attacks.
The statement further accuses Pakistani authorities of carrying out enforced disappearances, targeting civilians, and subjecting local communities to harassment during security operations. These allegations have been repeatedly raised by activists and rights organizations, while Pakistani authorities have generally rejected such accusations.
The armed group also claimed that Pakistani forces struggle when confronted directly by organized resistance fighters and alleged that their military presence in some regions has become increasingly constrained.
The security situation in Balochistan remains complex, with competing narratives emerging from state institutions, armed groups, local communities, and human rights organizations. Independent verification of claims made by either side is often difficult due to limited access to affected areas.
