Gwadar: 84-year-old farmer allegedly subjected to enforced disappearance
An 84-year-old man has reportedly been subjected to enforced disappearance in the Panwan area of Jiwani, Gwadar district. The incident has raised serious concerns among local residents and human rights organizations, highlighting the ongoing issues of enforced disappearances in the region.
According to sources, Mohammad Baloch, son of Habash and a resident of Panwan, was taken from his home by personnel of the Pakistan Army at approximately 4 pm on 11 July 2026. Since his abduction, his family and community members have been unable to determine his whereabouts, adding to the fears and anxieties surrounding his disappearance.
Muhammad Baloch is known to be a farmer by profession, and he has lived in the area for many years. His age and status as a local resident make his disappearance particularly distressing, as it reflects the broader pattern of alleged targeting and detention of civilians in the region.
The incident is part of a series of alleged enforced disappearances that have taken place in Panwan. Local reports indicate that on the same day, around two dozen residents, including children and elderly people, were detained and disappeared by security forces. These actions have sparked widespread outrage and concern among human rights advocates.
Baloch Voice for Justice strongly condemns these enforced disappearances and urges authorities to immediately disclose the whereabouts of the missing individuals.
