Four young Baloch men have reportedly been subjected to enforced disappearance following a raid by Pakistani forces in Jiwani, a tehsil of Gwadar district. The incident has raised serious concerns among the residents and human rights activists, who condemn the actions taken by security forces in the area.

Residents said that on the night of 21 July 2026, Pakistani forces conducted a raid in the Dashti Bazaar area of Jiwani. During the operation, houses were searched, and women and children were allegedly mistreated. The security forces reportedly entered homes without warning, creating an atmosphere of fear and tension within the community.

During this raid, four young men were taken into custody by the Pakistani forces. These individuals have since disappeared, with no information provided about their current whereabouts. The enforced disappearance has sparked outrage among the local population, who are demanding their immediate recovery and accountability for their enforced disappearance.

The missing individuals have been identified as Mohsin, son of Majeed; Yaqoob, son of Majeed; Haseeb, son of Asghar; and Sameer, son of Khalid. All four men are known to be close relatives, which has added to the community’s concern about their safety and the possibility of foul play.

Local sources confirm that all four men belong to the same family and are well-known in their community. The disappearance of these young men has deeply affected their families and neighbors, who are calling for justice and transparency regarding their detention and current status.

Meanwhile, residents report that restrictions on movement within Jiwani remain in force. These measures have been implemented by Pakistani authorities and are severely impacting daily life in the town. The residents say that these restrictions are a form of collective punishment and are unjustified without a proper legal basis.

According to sources, Pakistani forces have imposed fixed hours for entering and leaving Jiwani. Residents are reportedly only allowed to travel between 7:00 am and 10:00 am, and again between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Outside of these hours, movement into and out of the town has been completely prohibited, disrupting normal life and economic activities.

Locals say that these restrictions are causing severe hardships, affecting livelihoods, education, healthcare access, and other essential services. The community continues to suffer due to the ongoing security operations and restrictions, which they believe violate their constitutional rights, including freedom of movement.

Residents have criticized the authorities’ measures, arguing that they amount to collective punishment without any judicial order or legal justification. They emphasize that they are not seeking special treatment but are simply demanding their fundamental rights, including the freedom to move freely within their homeland.

The recent security clampdown follows an attack on a Pakistan Coast Guards camp in Panwan on 3 July. The attack was claimed by the Baloch Liberation Army’s Majeed Brigade. Since that incident, local residents say that security operations and restrictions in the area have intensified, further deepening the sense of insecurity and oppression among the community.
